FUNGSI BAHAGIAN
  • Membangunkan dan memperkukuh struktur, fungsi dan peranan organisasi atau institusi yang berkaitan dengan industri perkhidmatan pelancongan bagi memantapkan perancangan dan pelaksanaan pembangunan pelancongan.
  • Mempertingkatkan dan mempelbagaikan produk, aktiviti, kemudahan dan perkhidmatan pelancongan berasaskan kekuatan dan keunikan sumber tempatan.
  • Membangunkan dan menggalakkan pelancongan domestik.
  • Membangunkan dan mempertingkatkan sumber manusia dalam sektor perkhidmatan pelancongan negara dengan meningkatkan kemahiran dan kecekapan sektor perkhidmatan pelancongan melalui kursus dan seminar.
  • Menggalakkan pelaburan pelancongan melalui penyediaan insentif, tabung pelancongan dan khidmat nasihat.
  • Menyediakan peraturan dan garis panduan bagi mempertingkat kualiti kemudahan pelancongan.

PIAGAM PELANGGAN
  • Memberikan khidmat nasihat dan perundingan bagi isu-isu berkaitan dengan Bahagian Perkhidmatan Pelancongan dalam masa tiga minit masa menunggu di kaunter.
  • Mengeluarkan keputusan Peperiksaan Kursus Asas Pemandu Pelancong dalam tempoh 30 hari bekerja dari tarikh peperiksaan diadakan.
  • Mengeluarkan keputusan Peperiksaan Kursus Pemandu Pelancong Alam Semulajadi Tahap II dalam masa 30 hari bekerja dari tarikh peperiksaan diadakan.
  • Mengeluarkan keputusan Peperiksaan Kursus Pengesahan Pemandu Pelancong dalam tempoh 30 hari bekerja dari tarikh peperiksaan diadakan.
  • Menguruskan Pinjaman Dana Pelancongan dengan cara:
    a) Memproses dan meminta pemohon membentangkan pembentangan permohonan dalam tempoh 30 hari bekerja dari tarikh permohonan diterima;
    b) Membuat keputusan permohonan dalam 14 hari bekerja dari tarikh pembentangan.
  • Meluluskan dan mengeluarkan Sijil Pendaftaran Projek Pelancongan dalam tempoh 14 hari bekerja dari tarikh penerimaan permohonan yang lengkap.
  • Mengeluarkan sijil kursus latihan dalam tempoh 14 hari bekerja dari tarikh terima laporan terakhir daripada penganjur, dengan syarat segala peraturan dan syarat kelayakan dipenuhi pada tarikh permohonan diterima.
 FUNCTION
  • To develop and strengthen the structure, functions and roles of the organization or institution involved in tourism to sustain the planning and implementation of tourism development.
  • To develop and improve the products, activities, facilities and tourism services based on the strength and uniqueness of local sources.
  • To develop and promote domestic tourism.
  • To develop and improve the quality of Human Resource in the nation’s tourism industry.
  • To promote tourism investment through the provision of incentives, tourism funds and provide advisory and consultation assistance.
  • Prepare rules and guide lines to promote the quality of tourism facilities and services.
  • Develop Human Resource in the tourism sector and improve the skills and competency of the service sector through courses and seminars.
  • Develop the National Occupational Skills Standard in the tourism sector.
  • Plan and coordinate all relations between the various tourism services sector i.e. Ministries, Government Agencies, NGOs and the corporate sector.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the Public Relations Program under the “Malaysia Welcomes the World” campaign.
 CLIENT CHARTER
  • To give advisory and consultation services on issues relating to the Tourism Services Division within 3 minutes waiting time at the counter.
  • To issue the Basic Tourist Guide Course examination results within 30 working days from the date of the examination.
  • To issue the Nature Guide Course (Level II) examination results within 30 working days from the date of the examination.
  • To issue the Tourist Guide Confirmation Course examination results within 30 working days from the date of the examination.
  • Tourism Funds Loan Application;
    a) To process and call for presentation on loan application within 30 working days from the date of application.
    b) To determine to result on loan application within 14 working days from the date of the presentation.
  • To determine the approval and issuance of Tourism Project Registration Certificates within 14 working days from the date of receipt of the application.
  • To issue the training courses certificates within 14 working days from the date of receipt of final report from organizer.
