FUNGSI
  • Mengkaji dan menggubal dasar-dasar pelesenan berkaitan perusahaan pelancongan.
  • Mendaftar dan melesenkan perusahaan pelancongan (Pengendalian Perniagaan/agensi pengembaraan dan Institusi Latihan Pelancongan).
  • Mendaftar dan melesenkan pemandu pelancong.
  • Mendaftar dan melesenkan kenderaan pelancongan (bas persiaran dan kereta sewa pandu).
  • Mendaftar dan mengklasifikasikan premis penginapan pelancong.
  • Menjalankan urusan pendakwaan yang sewajarnya bagi kes-kes pelanggaran AIP 1992 dan APKP 1999 serta peraturan-peraturan di bawahnya oleh perusahaan pelancongan atau individu.
  • Menggubal dan mengemaskinikan perundangan yang berkaitan dengan industri pelancongan dari semasa ke masa.
  • Melaksanakan dan menguatkuasakan undang-undang industri pelancongan dan peraturan-peraturan dibawahnya.
  • Memproses permohonan kemasukan pegawai dagang dalam perusahaan pelancongan.
  • Memproses permohonan penubuhan pejabat perwakilan pelancongan asing yang beroperasi di Malaysia.
  • Menjalankan tugas sebagai pemudah cara antara agensi kerajaan, swasta dengan pertubuhan bukan kerajaan berkaitan pelancongan.
  • Memberi khidmat nasihat dan galakan kepada individu atau organisasi yang menceburi perusahaan pelancongan.
  • Mengkaji semula sistem dan prosedur pelesenan bagi meningkatkan sistem penyampaian perkhidmatan.

PIAGAM PELANGGAN
  • Menentukan proses kelulusan/pengeluaran lesen kepada syarikat perniagaan pengendalian pelancongan dan perniagaan agensi pengembaraan (TOB/TAB) dalam masa 20 hari.
  • Menentukan proses kelulusan pembaharuan lesen kepada syarikat perniagaan pengendalian pelancongan dan perniagaan agensi pengembaraan (TOB/TAB) dalam tempoh lima hingga lapan hari.
  • Menentukan proses kelulusan/pengeluaran lesen bas persiaran dan kereta sewa dalam tempoh 20 hari.
  • Menentukan proses kelulusan pembaharuan lesen bas persiaran dan kereta sewa dalam tempoh tiga hari.
  • Menentukan proses pendaftaran premis penginapan pelancong dalam tempoh tiga hari.
  • Menentukan proses pengklasifikasian premis penginapan pelancong dalam masa 20 hari.
  • Menentukan proses kelulusan/pengeluaran lesen Institusi Latihan Pelancongan dalam tempoh 20 hari.
  • Menentukan proses pembaharuan lesen Institusi Latihan Pelancongan dalam tempoh dua hari.
  • Menentukan proses pengeluaran permit mengajar bagi Institusi Latihan Pelancongan dalam tempoh tiga hingga lima hari.
  • Menentukan proses kelulusan dan pengeluaran lesen pemandu pelancong dalam tempoh lima hari.
  • Menentukan proses pembaharuan lesen pemandu pelancong dalam tempoh lima hari.
  • Menentukan proses dan kelulusan pengecualian menggunakan pemandu pelancong dalam tempoh satu hingga dua hari.

 FUNCTION
  • To ensure all tourism related enterprises and interested parties in the tourism industry have valid licenses.
  • To educate and ensure the tourism related enterprises and interested parties in the tourism industry abide by the prevailing laws and regulations in order to project an industry that is competitive, healthy and of quality.
  • To dispense advice and to motivate individuals as well as organizations which have plans to or are already committed in the tourism industry.
  • To determine the optimum size and number of tourism related enterprises to fulfill the needs of the tourism industry.
  • To have a good relationship with the NGO in order to achieve a cordial and harmonious atmosphere in the development of to tourism industry.  

CLIENT CHARTER

  • To determine the license renewal process for tour operating businesses and travel agency businesses within 35 days.
  • To determine the approval / issuance of licenses for tour buses and rental cars within 35 days.
  • To determine the approval for renewal of licenses for tour buses and rental cars within 7-10 days.
  • To determine the registration of lodging premises for tourists within 6 days.
  • To determine the classification of lodging premises for tourist within 46 days.
  • To determine the approval /issuance of licenses for the Training Institute of Tourism within 35 days.
  • To determine the renewal of licenses to the Training Institute of Tourism within 5-7 days.
  • To determine the issuance of teaching permit to the Training Institute of Tourism within 5-7 days.
  • To determine the approval and issuance of licenses to tourist guides within 6-9 days.
  • To determine the renewal and issuance of licenses to tourist guides within 5-7 days.
  • To determine the approval for exemption in order to avail the services of tourist guides within 1-3 days.
  • To take appropriate action towards tourists operating businesses, tour vehicles, lodging premises for tourist, tourist guides and Training Institute for Tourism.

All of the above are valid on condition all regulations and qualifications are met with, on the date of submission of applications.
